In the shadow of Mount Qornet esSawda, 2,000 year old cedars grow, remnants of a fragrant forest that once covered the land that is now Lebanon.

The temple of Solomon, the sarcophagi and the sun ships of the ancient pharaohs were built from the wood of the cedar forest. Revered for its scent, its utility, and its beauty, cedar fueled the trade that established Lebanon's economic and cultural development. For these reasons the cedar is the national tree of Lebanon, and dear to all its people.
